Sportsól Hamrasól ehf., ID no. 531023-0480, operates the tanning salons Sportsól Hamraborg 16, 200 Kópavogur, and Sportsól Hverafold 1-3, 112 Reykjavík. Sportsól is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. We process personal data in accordance with the Icelandic Act No. 90/2018 on Data Protection and the Processing of Personal Data and Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR).
What information do we collect?
- Bookings and purchases: When you book a session, buy Frelsi or other services through the Noona booking system, we process your name, phone number, email, Icelandic ID number (kennitala) and details of your bookings and purchases.
- Subscriptions: For subscription agreements we process your name, ID number, contact details and payment history. As stated in the subscription terms, Sportsól may check subscribers against the Creditinfo default register.
- Visits: Staff check ID on arrival to confirm the 18-year age limit and that the correct card is being used.
- Communication: If you contact us by email or phone, we process the information you provide.
- The website: When you visit the website, the web server logs technical information such as your IP address and browser type, for security and to operate the site.
Purpose and legal basis
- To perform a contract: taking bookings, providing our services and managing subscriptions and credit.
- Legal obligation: e.g. keeping accounting records.
- Legitimate interests: e.g. credit checks, age verification and website security.
- Consent: where applicable, e.g. for marketing. You can withdraw your consent at any time.
Sharing your information
We never sell personal data. We use service providers that process data on our behalf, such as the Noona booking system, payment processing, web hosting and Creditinfo. These providers may only process the data according to our instructions. Data is not transferred outside the European Economic Area unless appropriate safeguards are in place.
The website links to social media (Instagram and TikTok). When you visit them, their own privacy policies apply.
How long do we keep your information?
We keep personal data no longer than necessary for the purpose it was collected for. Accounting records are kept for seven years in accordance with the Icelandic Act No. 145/1994 on Bookkeeping.

The website only uses necessary cookies, e.g. to remember your language choice and for security. If we introduce cookies for analytics or marketing, we will ask for your consent first.
Your rights
You have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to processing, to data portability and to withdraw consent.
